Prevent rodent damage to photovoltaic cabling
DALLAS, October 17, 2011 – Photovoltaic wiring and cables are often exposed to damage by mice, rats and squirrels. These rodents can chew electrical wiring causing disruptions in service as well as maintenance and replacement costs. New products help protect your expensive photovoltaic installations by deterring rodent chewing. Easy to install, they provide a cost-effective solution to troublesome animal damage.
At this week’s Solar Power International (SPI), Hisco will be demonstrating Roundit® 2000 from Federal Mogul, an innovative cable wrap specially designed to deter rodents. With a self-wrapping design, it is fast and easy to apply. It has good cut through and abrasion resistance.
With operating temperatures ranging from -70oC to +124oC, the product is UL recognized and available in sizes from 3/16” to 1½”.
