Hisco ranked on two top distributor listings: MD&M Market Leader and ID Big 50
HOUSTON, October 27, 2011 – Hisco, an employee-owned, specialty distribution company, serving the electronic assembly, renewable energy, medical, aerospace, defense and other industrial markets, has been named a 2011 MDM Market Leader, ranking #30 on Modern Distribution Management’s 2011 Industrial Market Leaders list. Also, for the third year running, Hisco achieved recognition on Industrial Distribution’s Big 50 list.
Modern Distribution Management, a specialized information service for wholesale distribution companies, identifies annually the top 40 distributors by revenue in industrial distribution. "The top distributors continued to gain market share in 2011, many returning to sales levels seen before 2009. While there are still headwinds, distributors that appear on MDM's Market Leaders lists continue to execute a successful strategy to give them an edge in the recovery," said Tom Gale, publisher of Modern Distribution Management.
Industrial Distribution magazine echoed similar sentiments in its recent release of this year’s Big 50 List. “Some did more than that [survive], expanding fearlessly into new markets and attacking acquisition opportunities full-force. But for most, the mood was somewhat cautious” says the ID website.
Hisco handled the downturn well, investing in the future rather than merely cutting costs. This strategy paid off with exceptional growth coming out of 2009 and continuing in 2010 and 2011. “Our growth is bigger than the economic rebound and we are taking market share, says Bob Dill, president of Hisco. “We are being very intentional about our growth and we have made investments in people and infrastructure that are key to our strategy.”
