Hisco Launches Kit with 3M Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Solutions

HOUSTON, September 15, 2009 - Hisco partners with 3M to provide a new Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Solutions Kit designed to test, evaluate, and provide training on EMC technologies. The kit is targeted to electronic OEM manufacturers and accredited labs that test devices and equipment to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.

The vertically integrated EMC solution kit is the first product on the market that combines diagnostic instrumentation, materials from multiple 3M divisions, and engineering solutions from Precision Converting, Hisco’s custom fabrication division.

The EMC kit consists of two magnetic field probes (ScanEM-HC and ScanEM-EC), a test board, connectors, and an assortment of die-cut and sheet materials from 3M, including EMI shielding foils, fabric tapes, absorbers, gasketing, and conductive materials.

The EMC product line from 3M controls electromagnetic interference from internal sources, limits EMI susceptibility from external sources and helps manufacturers meet high certification standards. In addition, these products are ideal for EMI/RFI shielding and absorbing, static charge grounding, anti-static masking, cushioning, mechanical protection, and conductive properties for a wide variety of applications.
